From Ann Arbor, get onto I-96 West by whatever means most convenient to you. Take 96 all the way to Grand Rapids. At Grand Rapids, the highway will split into 96 (Muskegon) and 196 (Downtown GR). It is fairly imperative that you stay on 96 towards Muskegon, 'cause otherwise, yer screwed.

From 96 (Muskegon) you get off at exit 30B (Alpine Avenue/M-37 North). Take Alpine north until it becomes M-37 (a two-lane rural highway) and follow M-37 north until you hit Newaygo (probably 30 miles or so from where you got off I-96). Follow it through downtown Newaygo (such that it is...) until you cross the Muskegon river. Just across the river, there is an intersection. Turn left onto M-82, heading towards Fremont.

Follow M-82 until you get to a blinking red light at a four-way stop. This is Main Street in Fremont. Turn left at that four-way stop (onto Main heading West) and take Main all the way through downtown Fremont (such that it is...). Keep following this road several miles past Fremont, until you get to another blinking light. This is the junction with Maple Island Road/(M-120). Turn right (north) onto Maple Island Road/(M-120 East).

From there, go damn near three miles exactly. You will reach 24th st. Turn left onto 24th street and take it back into the woods. About a mile or so back there will be an intersection with a couple of trees growing in the middle of it. Take another left here.

Go another quarter-mile or so and there will be a driveway off to your left. It opens up onto a clearing that will probably have several vehicles parked in it. Watch out for the puddles on the way in, they're deeper than they look. You are now at Colors Paintball Field.

There's a little barn-like shed where you register, rent guns, mask, etc. and buy paint if you need it. There's a chrono right next to it so you can clock your gun, and the air cannister is right near there, free for your use throughout the day. The Onwer's name is Randy and he's a really nice guy.

If you decide to go, I suggest you look at a map before going and chart the route as far as you can so you have a rough idea of which directions you'll be travelling in. The rural highways are especially bad for winding around and changing directions. M-120 East actually corresponds to north along Maple Island Road, so it can get a little confusing at times.
